A fetch library is a frontend library that helps you communicate with APIs more easily and manage the data you get from them.
First, there’s the built-in JavaScript fetch():

const tasks = await response.json();This works, but fetch() itself doesn’t manage things like caching, retries, or stale data.
A fetching/data-fetching library adds those features.

Also, “fetch library” isn’t a strict technical term. People often say data-fetching library or server-state library. Examples include TanStack Query, SWR, and Apollo Client (particularly for GraphQL).
